Re: $750 of $1500 Dell Laptops (Starts 6/7/2005)
Doh! Just bought a 6000 last week of dell outlet for $950 shipped, incl the WUXGA and 80GB HD. Looks like I could have saved more.

This is phenomenal. Before the $750 off, I'm looking at spending around $2200. Recommendations?

Re: $750 of $1500 Dell Laptops (Starts 6/7/2005)
I'm at work so I can't read the terms in depth, but looking around on Dell.com isn't THAT shady, so I got away with it
Anyhow, does anybody know if it's gravy for me to spec out a computer to $1456 and then add a $59 wireless router? Total is $1515 but it's not all in the computer line, will I be able to use the coupon? I know these things run out quick, so I don't wanna be fumbling around. I could very easily spend the $45 bucks elsewhere on the computer (probably get only 1 Dimm of DDR instead of 2 so I could add another 512mb later). Anyhow, if anyone knows the answer to my question I'd appreciate a reply Thanks doods -Sam |

Re: $750 of $1500 Dell Laptops (Starts 6/7/2005)
I'm pretty computer illiterate. If I were to buy one of these it'd just be for poker and maybe taking notes in class. My friend told me that I dont need to buy the word/excel package since I already have the disc, is this true? Also, how do these specifications look?

Memory 1GB Shared DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms 1GB2D [311-3709] 3 [/ QUOTE ] Save yourself $70ish by picking the "512 MB 1 Dimm" option for $100 and then going to http://www.crucial.com and buying another 512 MB DIMM for $80ish. Save a little more by leaving it at 256 MB 1 Dimm and buying two 512s at Crucial ($180ish total vs. $160ish total). [ QUOTE ] Battery 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (53 WHr) 6BAT [312-0277] 27 [/ QUOTE ] How often do you plan to use it in class? I'm a big fan of battery upgrades, but a lot of people here would suggest rather than upgrading this battery that you purchase a "backup" 9-cell instead. |
