you played it fine

if he slowplayed his hand, he missed a lot of value here

if he drew you out, he made a horrible call on the flop and will lose the rest of his money (hopefully to me) soon enough

Bad beat posts are discouraged FYI.

Admittedly I did lose the hand... but I don't see how my post was in any way a bad beat. I made no complaints... didn't show the results... merely asked how my play looked. If you have an actual answer as to how this was a bad beat post, I would be more than happy to hear it.

its a bad beat because you were ahead until the river most likely. u bet/raised whenever u could with the best hand and then got drawn out. theres no other way to play it. thats why its a bad beat.

Neither do most bad beat posts...

OK I'm a little cranky and I'm not a mind-reader so I'll take your word for it.
For the most part this is incredibly standard, except...

I am beginning to wonder if it's good to pay off these river raises. Somebody in the HUSH forum yesterday made a good post about hands like this being a fold to a river raise when you have A3...so why do we always call them with AQ? How often does villian have something that beats A3 but not AQ? Is he really calling down with AJ and arbitrarily popping the river? Food for thought - to me that's the only interesting part of this hand.

Ok... I see what you are saying about this being a bad beat, but that wasn't my intention. I have been posting a lot lately about my play because I have the downturn of a century. I honestly am probably setting world record BB losses... but anyway. I really wanted to know if my straight forward play was correct here. Flop raise, etc. Oh, and just so you know, I was actually behind from the flop. He had 44... I can only assume he was waiting until he knew I didn't hit the diamonds to get aggressive.
