Need at least 4 players dealt in to qualify for the BBJ.

[ QUOTE ]

Aside: Would playing heads up on a BBJ table be a good idea? I feel like it is since the regular rake is still capped at $1 and we would get more of the prize money, right?

[/ QUOTE ]

even if the rules allowed it, (edit)

NO
the more people the better. your chance of having the bad beat hit decreases hugely w/less players (far more than the additional prize share makes up for.)
but if you also consider the addiitonal # of hands you could play headsup, as opposed to ring, it might theoretically make sense (although, i'm almost positive it still wouldn't)

and even if it did, aren't you getting a little greedy

Add in the fact that you don't even qualify for the jackpot unless there ar 4 players at the table and I think it's slightly less EV than you are thinking.

(wonders if they take $0.50 JP-drop when 2 or 3 players...I doubt they do since it's not eligible...but wouldn't be surprised).
