Default The current buzz... Edith Brown Clement

What a disappointment that nomination would be.

Now Edith Jones is someone who could add some real value to the court.

Sounds like everything a conservative would want except that she feels abortion law has already been settled in federal courts.

I'm not going to speak for BGC. Perhaps he has other reasons to be unhappy with her.

But her reputation is that of a strict constructionist; so I don't know what he (and other conservatives) would be upset about, unless it's her past statements that she believes abortion laws are already a settled matter in the eyes of the federal judiciary.

Why go for a watered down intellect when you can put a true intellect on the court?

At the supreme court we should have the best of the best. Mediocre judges need not apply.

Default OK. so lets have your answer

What's wrong with her? Your dad .... oops i mean W's dad ... nominated her to her current job.

Top three decisons of hers that you disagree with and why.

There is at least one strike against her that I can offer -- she was not educated in a blue state.

I'd be curious to know why you feel she fails to meet even the highest intellectual standards of the court. Have you read any of her decisions?

I am happy because even though she may not be as far right as I would like it appears she is to the right of O'Conner. If so the court itself should take a step to the right.

BTW it is all speculation on her as there doesn't seem to any sources.

MSNBC is profiling Edith Jones.
