I'm not much of a NL or tournament player, but I just qualified for Step 5.

I payed the $11 for Step 1, won it and moved to Step 2. I finished 2nd in Step 2, moved to Step 3, finished 3rd, moved to Step 4 and finished 2nd. So, now I'm freerolled at Step 5, which has a $1,000 +$80 buyin.

It seems like the odds of making it to the top in these step tournaments are probably better than the multi-table satellites.
