Default Multiway Pot With KK

UTG+2 is a bit LAG at 23.0/11.76/2.34 after 2,372 hands.
MP3 is a LAG postflop but somewhat passive pre-flop at 25.9/7.05/1.80 after 397 hands.
BB is LAG pre-flop but relatively passive post-flop at 46.0/11.50/0.63 after 113 hands.

Party Poker 1.00/2.00 Hold'em (10 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, UTG+2 raises, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 1 folds, Hero 3-bets, 1 folds, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (12.50 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+2 folds, MP3 calls.

Turn: (7.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, BB calls, MP3 calls.

River: (13.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, MP3 folds, Hero ???

Final Pot: 19.75 BB.

Nothing much to see pre-flop and on the flop. BB donks the turn after cold-calling pre-flop and check-calling the flop. BB looks to have turned two-pair or caught and inside straight draw with QT. But then, after I raise BB slows down and just calls.

Meanwhile, MP3 is on a flush-draw.

The river seems perfect, but BB once again worked up the courage to be aggressive. Certainly the king helped me more than it helped him. How close is your decision here? I didn't think twice before throwing in a raise, but what your plans when BB makes it 3-bets?

Meanwhile, MP3 missed his flush-draw.

I raise the river. He three-bets, and I call. Pot is too large to fold. He could be on a flopped 2-pair.

Grunch.

If your read of BB is passive, I don't think he would bet the turn with an OESD. I think you're more likely up against a scared two-pair or set, who wants to put some money in the pot but "not too much".

I cap this river I think. You're more likely ahead of another set, two-pair, and stealthy AAs than QT I think.

I raise as well and expect to see some kind of 2 pair.

Well, only if you threw your turn read out the window. This looks every bit like Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (46 VPIP BB might've called preflop).

You apparently thought so, too, since you folded to his 3-bet (don't include the final pot, and don't cut off the HH at your action and then tell us what happened!).

I think I'm capping this river. A made straight would have made a move sooner, or would have gone for a c/r, and that's all we're worried about.

Uh, unless he rivered his straight and is too stupid to think of going for a c/r (or afraid that Hero's QQ would be scared off by the K).

Whoops, probably best not to post while still multi-tabling. The comment about the straight draw with QT was meant for the river card. On the turn, I actually intended to say that the Jack does not complete any straight draws. Anyway, the results are in!

(You miscounted the bets bozlax )

River: (13.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets, MP3 folds, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 19.75 BB.
Results in white below:
BB has Qh Ts (a straight, nine to king.)
Hero has Kh Kd (three of a kind, kings.)
BB wins 19.25 BB.

Not sure what to make of this except for a small note under BB's name. The donk and the 3-bet on the river from such a passive player threw me for a loop so I only called down. BB's play doesn't really make much sense unless he misread his cards and thought he had a straight on the turn, then stopped to double-check after my 3-bet.

I think the river is a pretty easy raise. I'm sure capping the river could not be that bad.

Heh, I wasn't even looking at the QT straight as a possibility. This guy is a champ. Make a note and move on.
