88 hand facing reraise
The BB in this hand is very bluff happy, he doubled me up earlier when I had AJ on a KQT2Q board by pushing with A3 on the river. I wasn't really paying attention to the table too much and didn't notice anything from MP3, but anybody who overcoldcalls for 1/5 of his stack normally isn't great. Even with this info, is this still a fold? If so, whats the lowest PP you call with?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (10 handed) converter MP3 (t475) Hero (t1970) Button (t1105) SB (t1200) BB (t1755) UTG (t2400) UTG+1 (t1375) UTG+2 (t1215) MP1 (t1925) MP2 (t1260) Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, UTG+2 raises to t80, 1 fold, MP2 calls t80, MP3 calls t80, Hero calls t80, BB pushes for 1755 3 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls for 395 Hero... |

Re: 88 hand facing reraise
I think 88 is the cutoff, and I call this. I think probable hands for this move are 99 and below or AX. I'm worried about a coin flip against a couple overs, but I fully expect to be a 4:1 favorite against this player and 88. Not really concerned about MP3 - probably a Mid/low PP or some broadway cards, but doesn't matter much facing the overbet from the BB. I hope you called.

Re: 88 hand facing reraise
I probably fold 88, probably call 99, definitely call TT. Yeah, it's real close. Don't worry about it, you didn't make a bad choice either way.

Re: 88 hand facing reraise
Pat,
Looks as if the BB wants to steal the pot and get heads up with the short stack. I would make the call based on your read. However if you think the BB plays well enough to know when to switch gears, then I would feel a bit hesitant about calling. Given the description of the players involved I would call and hope to win a race against 3 or 4 over cards. |

Re: 88 hand facing reraise
With 2K in chips and the low blinds i dont take a risk here and fold.
it may depend on the buyin level, but sometimes very strong hands play like this (huge push compared to the blinds) just hoping for 1 caller.. it is very close though, I call with 1010 I know its stupid, but early in a tournament I sometimes push with aces UTG or UTG+1, sometimes someone very stupid calls. |

BB had Q3o and short stack had QJs. A J fell on the turn to give short stack the main pot, but I still picked up some chips in the hand. |

Re: 88 hand facing reraise
Good laydown. It seems to me that you could call with about pocket tens and higher plus ace-king. This is just an estimation based on some of the information you've supplied.
