In addition to all the other obvious reasons for buying PT (monitoring your own play, reviewing hands, GT+, etc), I also want to add that PT makes it very easy to calculate your winnings and losses for tax purposes. Export all your session notes to excel, sort by net winnings, add your + sessions and - sessions seperately, and you're done in 5 minutes. This would be a pain if you were keeping records by hand.

If you play SNG's or MTT's it's pretty useless IMO. But excellent for ring game players.

I got my PT licence as a present from a frien, so I shouldn't be the one preaching about not being cheap, and just bying it... But I'll say this: it was an excellent present. It really helps analyzing your game. If you play mainly for the money, you can't afford not bying it, and if you play to improve, and for the competition, it would be a shame not to use this excellent learning tool.

Apart from what people have said above, it's really interesting to analyze the data for computing confidence intervals, etc. See some of Homers posts for more on this.

Yea, me too... a "friend" gave me the "license" as a "gift." Yep. That's what happened...

In all seriousness, PT is a great program and I'd recommend it to anyone who uses a compatible site.

Hey, I'm an idiot even if I DO buy the program (which I did). Don't believe me?? Just ask my wife. She's the one that keeps telling me I'm an idiot.

If nothing else, it gives you some amusing information...for example, the hand that has won me the most money on Party is pocket fives.
