Too aggressive with AKs?
Villain is 22/2.5/0.95 - semi-loose/passive, but not too passive.
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 max, 8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, MP1 raises, 2 folds, Hero 3-bets, 2 folds, MP1 calls. Flop: (7.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 calls. Turn: (5.75 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero 3-bets, MP1 calls. River: (11.75 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls. Final Pot: 15.75 BB I think I got carried away on this one. His modest aggression preflop and flop made me think he had QQ/JJ, although I didn't rule out AK/AQ. The double check raises on the end though made me think I'd been set up. |

Re: Too aggressive with AKs?
I'm thinking KQ here, I'd just call his turn check/raise, check the river if he tries to cehck-raise again, call if he bets.

Re: Too aggressive with AKs?
Q1: how many hands have you seen villian for.... what will he raise here... his pf-raise standards seem very high... but this could just be a matter of small sample size.
preflop: nice flop: great like the raise i'd bet the turn as well, but when c/r'ed expect to be looking at AA or KK or AK especially with how passive this player is from the c/r call down... |

I don't see anything wrong with 3-betting the river...

Re: Too aggressive with AKs?
hmmm. I think if you check behind on the river you are missing out on some extra $$. I call the turn check raise and bet the river if checked to. Call if he check/raises.
i might even go far enough to say that I would raise a river bet (if bet into). It's not likely he has AA or KK. |

[/ QUOTE ] About 20 hands at this point was all I had on him. Only got 50 hands on him for the whole night - he didn't stick around long. |

Re: Too aggressive with AKs?
FWIW, I would have played it the same. No way I check the river through.

Re: Too aggressive with AKs?
You and I think alike...not sure if that's comforting or scary . AA is exactly what he had. If he'd 3-bet me on the flop I'd have played this so very differently.
