But I'm actually told that that is a bald faced lie.

Does this imply they were well-shaven when you wrote?

[/ QUOTE ]

I bet they were scruffy faced lies then.

And this just in, I did get a reply to my "I'm not giving you any more personal information" email (like I hadn't over the phone already). They sent me the basic form letter with no additionional information. I sent them back a message telling them they were liars and I would never stop badmouthing their site. Like they care.

Thinking back about this, it's honestly not a huge loss. Party is better for bonus whoring anyway. The real issue is the asinine manner in which Empire has conducted itself. Had I gotten a real reason up front and not been jerked around, that would be too bad, but without any hard feelings. But the way they chose to handle it makes me want to choke someone.

I could actually care less about losing my Empire account. My concern lies in that, is this going to come across the Party skin spectrum? To lose all skin accounts would be a -EV. And, it does bother me whenthose who haven't had their accounts closed (yet, I don't think it's even remotely over) just naturally assume that those with closed accounts chip-dumped or something else dishonest. As I said in another post, it will be funny to see their reactions when their accounts take a hit.

Default Just because this made me laugh

I threw a vatload of nastiness their way in a few different emails. Here's the last one and the response:

Wow, pretty quick on the response this time! It took
you a while to come up with that ridiculous form
letter in response my original refusal to give you my
information.

I have to wonder why you even bothered to send me an
email back, considering that a) You already lied to
me, so why would I believe you? and b) The non-answer
about why accounts have been closed to me and dozens
of others is pathetic.

I know that Empire reserves the right to close
accounts. See, that's something you guys evidently
don't understand: Trust. You trust players not to do
things like collude, make multiple accounts, etc.
Players trust you with their money. They trust you
NOT to just close their accounts for no reason, giving
no reason. You BROKE that trust by shutting people
down without cause, and then refusing to tell the
truth about why you had done so.

Empire Poker is no longer trustworthy, and Party Poker
and the other skins are going to ride its coattails
just by association. The funny part is this: If you
had just come out and said "Your account is closed.
It is closed for this concrete reason" and didn't
dance around it with a lot of lies, then you would not
have generated this kind of ill will.

Come to think of it, maybe short-selling stock in
Party's IPO is becoming a good strategy.

And the response:

Dear Gregory,

Thank you for your thoughts.

Best regards,

Samantha

Wow - that's pretty funny.

Samantha is the person I was dealing with as well (assuming that it's not just a bunch of support people signing their name as Samantha).

btw - I generally agree with your sentiment.
Just saying 'we are closing your account because we reserve the right to close your account' is obviously not satisfactory.

Accusing your players of 'wrongful and suspicious' activity and then not even elaborating on what kind of 'activity' that may have been is just freaking offensive.

I will at least be considering pulling my business from empire in the future (probably not...but anything is possible).

I'm not really specifically trying to help the others here per-se.
I do think empire should be held accountable for their actions.

If they are going to close the accounts of a bunch of players and not tell them why then that concerns me. Accusing them of 'wrongful and suspicious activities' makes it even worse.

I feel I have a right to know what the policies are of any and every site I play at basically. They are basically saying that their policy is "we aren't going to tell you what our policies are...except that we can close whoever's account whenever we want."

Their behaviour in this situation has been deplorable and I will consider that as well as their vague responses to me in my decision on what site to play on for a given evening.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know exactly what you mean Bob. I haven't been banned but am worried about continuing to play there simply because I would like to know 100% what boundaries you have to stay within to avoid this sort of hassle.

I basically split my play; half there and half with Party, though generally not at the same time ie I load up at Empire around bonus time and play there (multi tabling 15/30) until a reload at party at which point I move back to party and play there in the same way until its time to move back to Empire.

Both sites make a fortune out of me as they usually get two weeks roughly of daily play and generally whatever bonus is offered is cleared in 1-3 days depending on my play at the time, so the rest is large scale rake for them. Like you I normally keep around 5k as my bottom line and never withdraw below it. Right now I jus don't know how comfortable I would feel with 5k at Empire until I know exactly what their problem is.

I can't see any problem any site would have with me but it's still not good to see people's accounts closing without any given reason. If you're never sure what the rules are how can you be sure you don't inadvertently breach them? It mightn't be likely that that would happen but I'm not particularly prepared to risk 5k on the possibility.

Good Luck to everyone who has been banned

Mackas

Meh. Although I think I have finished emailing her. If I send anything else it will be something like "I am the walrus" or "Soylent Green is people!" just because I know it's useless to keep asking questions.

those empire rats "stole" $400 that I had in my account. After seeing this post I discovered this no e-mail, no nothing! Such a brash reaction on their part. Funny thing is, I handn't used this empire account in 2 years and I kept on getting letters in the mail telling me to buyin and then i do and then i get jacked up. what the f*ck!
