1 $10k+ cash and 3 $5k+ cashes including 2 wins and a 2nd in regular party tourneys and 5th in a super weekday.

I learned the rules of the game about a year ago and found a free $15 promotion on gamingclubpoker.com... Built it up from there and have been playing seriously for about 6-8 months.

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing?
Played my first hand of poker in October 04 in the dorms and been playing seriously since January 05. Started out as an NL cash game player but have switched over to SNGs/MTTs to try something new(for now)

Accomplishments:
- 3rd in Bodog 100k for a $10k cash(my 1st $100+ buyin tourny ever)
- Just today fresh off a 2nd place in Bodog 10k for a $1600 cash

Bodog is definitely rigged in my favor. No such luck on Party or Stars.

I am 21, birthday is April 18th.

I live in Oklahoma.

I have been married for almost a month now.

I was a student but I gave that [censored] up.

I don't really have a favorite movie right now, I like alot of them

I have been playing poker for about 2 1/2 years now.

My best accomplishment would probably be winning the Friday Special for $38,000 3 weeks ago. I am also pretty proud of the day that I started 4 multis (109 on party, 110 10k on empire, 215 o8 on stars, and 11r 25k gtd on stars) and bubbled in the party one, won the 110 empire for 3000, won the 215 o8 for 7000 and won the 11r 25k gtd for 11000. Winning 3 tourneys all at the same time felt pretty good.

How old are you?
Younger than some, older than many

Where do you live?
Everywhere and nowhere, many homes around the world.

Are you married? Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Children?
Engaged

Occupation besides poker?
Professional

If studying, what and where?
The studying never stops. All that changes is the topic and the priority. Technology, international affairs, foreign language, game theory, mathematics, poker, whatever.

Favorite movie?
Too many to list. I'm a bit of a movie buff.

Best poker acomplishment?
Now this one I like. I find it very interesting that the other respondents have put down all their big wins. I also have some wins, but they aren't what I feel are my best accomplishments.

I think my best accomplishments are a couple of tournaments where I had absolute garbage preflop cards for the vast majority of the tournaments, yet managed to optimize gains of the few hands I did make, and then do enough stealing, semi-bluffing and outright bluffing to survive and make it into the money. I think anyone with a little talent and luck can make a final table or even win a tournament when Jupiter aligns with Mars. But it is the rare person who can make something from nothing and I'm proud that I did that in a couple of cases.

Another example was playing in a ring game this week. I was getting turned and rivered so much, if I didn't get tire tracks on my face on the turn, then I got my head dunked on the river. I was stuck somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 big bets. But I knew this was a good game and urged myself to hang in there and stay confident. I managed to dig myself about halfway out before I became just too tired to play. I was really proud of the way I trusted my instincts and stuck it out to play more.

How long been playing?
Kind of a loaded question. For poker, I've been a serious student on and off for about 15 years, but only started playing a lot again recently. But before that, I was an expert in casino blackjack and did fairly well as a part time card counter. The casino industry has also been a serious hobby of mine for almost 20 years.

Feel free to add any other information or pictures about yourself you want to share.

No pictures, thank you very much, not a pretty sight. I love what poker represents over and above the money. It is mano a mano competition. It represents the best and worst in people.

It is a search for the answers to questions. It is a search for the truth (even if the truth is a lie). It is a study of human beings and human nature.

It has exposed my own weaknesses and frailties and allowed me an opportunity to improve upon them. It has shown me what my strengths are and how and when to use them to my advantage.

Everything that I have learned from poker, I have been able to apply in other parts of life, especially at work and in negotiations. It is becoming second nature to study a person for a minute or two and be able to tell how they are feeling, if they are worried about something, if they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes, etc.

I'm new to the MTT forum but I hope to be posting a lot here in the near future. Most of my posts have come from Micro LHE, SSHE, and to a lesser extent HUSH. So mostly I've played LHE for my whole career and am trying to learn MTTs for various reasons.

By the way I love AIM as a resource to discuss hands, concepts, strategies and everything else dealing with poker. If anyone feels like having a conversation about a hand they just busted out on, some MTT strategy or theory or just whatever, please AIM me at josh1slim. I really enjoy it, even if it's just "how's this hand?" "nh, looks good".

I'm 19, my birthday is May 13, 1986.

I live in Alabama, but I will be living in Fukuoka, Japan for the upcoming school year (September-May) to "study".

Totally single, no kids.

No occupation besides poker ATM. I am looking into taking up sports betting though.

Well my major currently is Computer Science, but I might be changing that to Asian Studies or Business or who the hell knows what. I have no idea what I want to study, just trying to enjoy myself and life at the moment. Over the next year I'll be concentrating on Japanese language and culture.

I don't have a specific favorite movie. Among my favorites are Dr. Strangelove, Rushmore, and to throw in something more recent I also enjoyed Zoolander.

My best poker accomplishment is beating Party Poker 5/10 6max for a respectable rate over 150K hands. Second place is beating Party Poker 10/20 6max for a smaller but still respectable rate over 30k hands (is that even an accomplishment? I don't know.)
I've been playing poker for about a year and a half, been playing seriously online (started at .5/1 LHE) since about December.

Some of my goals in the future:
Beat mid/high NLHE games.
Beat mid/high LHE games.
Beat mid/high buyin MTTs.
Play in some WSOP events at some point, and hopefully do well.
