well i don't think its relatively complicated. though if you play online im sure the deck is shuffled constantly, but i play with my friends where we go 52 cards.

now that i look at it, the link you gave is slightly different than the game i play. same idea, but different in some significant ways.

How did you guys play it, Voltron?

Our rules were after the ante, you dealt two cards, and the person whose turn it was had to make a wager on whether the third card would be between the first two cards. If the third card was not between the first two, you had to pay your wager to the pot. If the third card matched either of the first two cards, you had to pay double. Any amount can be wagered up to the full size of the pot.

If an ace fell as the first card, you got to call it high or low. An ace as the second card is automatically high.

It's an evil, evil game. In high school we regularly had pots over $100 with occasional pots reaching several hundred dollars. It was a little nerve-wracking, since none of us had jobs. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I think I played it the same way as you, which is different than in a casino.

We also play is card one is a 4 and card 2 is a 4 (a pair) you call higher than a 4 or lower than a 4, and play that way. If it hits the 4... you pay triple and get two free chances at winning the pot.

so if 44 comes up, obviously i call higher, and another 4 comes, I put 3x the pot in and then two cards are dealt, I get to make a free guess at redemption and winning the whole pot. I get two of these. Sooooo crazy.

What is the trick to the game? What counting methods to use?
