Default Foxwoods dealers=horrendous

I had every inention of posting this when I returned from the WPF last week, but just forgot. I have played in AC (a very little bit) and play at Turning Stone on a regular basis. Playing at FW for the first time, I was flabergasted at how bad - in general - the dealers were there. Let me state that I understand that in the $500 tourney they had to add blackjack dealers (and they megasucked) and that some dealers were just fine. But here are a few examples of terrible form from the dealers:

- Playing 1/2 NL. UTG raises to $6, UTG +1 re-raises to $22. I look down at KK and check to see how much UTG+1 has left. It's plain to see he only has $34 left, so I raise to $56. The dealer says to me "Are you sure? Why not just raise to $50 to make it easier math for me?" I kid you not.

- Playing a total $4/$8 donk-fest and, on different occasions, the flop would come out connected or suited and the dealer would say "oh, three spades - watch out" or "who has the 6?" or "10 of hearts would look good right now."

- $4/$8 - I raise in MP with JJ. Folds to BB and he thinks. Dealer says "common, it's only $4 more - you've got a huge stack." Needless to say, his 22 hits a set and I lose a few bets.

Those were just a few. It was miserable. For anyone on here who happens to work at Turning Stone, I appreciate you all sooooo much more now.

Examples 1 and 3 far more troubling to me than Example 2.

In the second two cases I'd be tempted to call the floor over and have it explained to the dealer that it's inappropriate to comment on the hand.

I remember a couple of years ago when they'd just moved some dealers to poker from the table games, I had one who after dealing the turn would rearrange the cards in numerical order. I asked her twice to stop, but she just gave me a blank look. I called the floor over and he politely explained to he not to do it. he then explained to me that she used to deal Carribean Stud or something like that and that's what they're supposed to do there.

The problem right now is that with the WPF in full swing, they need extra dealers to cover all the tables, so you get some who have had minimal training.

These actions are all inexcusable. As long as players keep playing there Foxwoods has little incentive to properly train their dealers.

I am pretty sure that during the WPF they use lots of pit dealers, both for the low limit ring and tournament games. During the rest of the year the regular dealers appear to be more qualified.

I agree with you on this issue, i mean it's so bad there that i don't even tip the dealers because it's all pooled together. Geez most of the dealers there are even hard to look at, and some are in retirement stage.

I think you're generalizing. I've been playing at Foxwoods for a few years and I would say that yes, there are some horrendous dealers, but I wouldn't say that Foxwoods dealers are horrendous in general. I do find that they are a lot worse at the 2/4 and 4/8 levels than at the higher levels. I play mainly 5/10 now and even though it's not a big jump from 4/8 I do notice that the dealers are a lot better there.

To be fair, Foxwoods probably has just as many quality dealers as Turning Stone, they just have 5x as many tables.

Its been about a year since I've played at Foxwoods, but compared to the major Vegas rooms the dealers there are shamefully bad.

It's bad enough when players berate one anothers play, but at Foxwoods the DEALERS would often berate customers. Of course, there are many good dealers at Foxwoods, but there are so many horrible ones that it makes the whole place look bad.
