I'm not sure about the specifics of this particular car/engine, but electric motors get good torque right from the start, as opposed to IC engines that don't usually get good torque until 3krpm and their best as high as 6.5krpm or more.

Civic claims 48 mpg hwy or stop n go, although its performance won't come close to the Accord's.

The Civic Hybrid is about $10k less but has only 127HP. Forget that, I like to be able to pass people without redlining when I step on the gas.

I don't think that I could ever get it to 3.5krpm w/out going over 100. That's what i like about it.

really, though, you notice it when you go from 50-80 as quickly as 0-30.
