Just open-limped with AA on the button and of course got beat. Soon after got some back with KK. On Table 3 with a short stack.
What does everybody think of the open limp with aces on the button? Good or bad? |

Good or bad? [/ QUOTE ] As a rule probably bad, because a raise will often be seen as a steal and you may find someone coming over the top, which is ideal. If you don't, you still get the blinds, which are significant. On the other hand, you were pretty short-stacked and a doubleup would have been pretty important. I can see playing a little more "dangerous"/increasing your variance if it gives you the chance to sort of "get back into the tournament" a bit more. edit: just realized I mentioned someone "coming over the top," when obviously any raise would be allin. regardless, i think, as a rule, just push it allin. but i think it's not completely out of the question to limp here hoping to double up. |
