Not to be a downer but you couldn't have possibly made a worse choice in site. The Royal Vegas site is disgusting. Their support is close to the worst if not the worst in online poker and their software is as bad as it gets. Also, they're notorious for having their server crash over and over again in large tournaments. Very very poor choice IMO, and I hope for the sake of the ISOP that RV doesn't bring it down like its brought down other good tourney ideas in the past.

I have to agree with "MEbenhoe " :
Royal Vegas was a poor choice.

But a bunch of other sites will be participating
in ISOP. Hopefully, that will include pokerstars
and some of the other better sites.

I don't think there software is that bad. Well, I have one major problem with it and that is that the shot clock for acting is the same in all ring games. So, lets say I am faced with a $1k+ decision in a short handed PLO game, I still only get 20 seconds to anaylze the situation and act before my hand is auto folded. That really sucks, and has cost me big time on more than one occasion. Other than that, I think there software is as good or better than Party's.

As to support, never had a problem with them, but I've never really had a problem I needed to take up with them. Their cash outs can be kind of slow, but I am never in that big of a hurry so it has not really bothered me.

we are sorry to hear your opinion on this. however, we could not be more happy with our choice. RVP has it all. incredible marketing, amazing management and fantastic celebrity endorsers. all of this coupled with the power of the prima network means that the ISOP is gonna rock.

prima has arrived and many of your comments are no longer applicable (if they ever were). however, as it has been pointed out, there will be many other tournaments for you to play in. i suspect that by the time the first event is played, RVP will have won you over MEbenhoe.

let's see if i am right.

Now this is just an if, but lets say we get to the first ISOP event. We're a few rounds in and suddenly RV has a big server crash like they've been known to have during large tournaments like this in the past. What will the response of the ISOP and RV be then? This would be a very bad way to start out the series. I may have been a bit harsh with my original comments due to personal problems I've had with multiple prima sites in the past, but this is my biggest worry, and its one substantiated by their past history.

honest to god, i have not heard of these server crashes and that's why i said i bet we can win you over. i don't think this is an issue anymore and if it was one, it has been solved. i'm told that the software is vastly superior to the product that prima launched with a long time ago and that not only are all the server issues fixed, but they are lightning fast. i can attest to the spped. i was playing 2 games recently (which is one too many for me, but i can handle it), and the software was so fast that i could not even keep up with that single extra table. yes, i'm a spazz and i am old.

you DO bring up a great point on crashes though. we all know that every site out there is prone to an unexpected crash and the way that will be handled will be clearly spelled out in the rules. what i can PROMISE is that regardless of the site, the tourney would be halted and that nobody is going to sit there and steal blinds. obviously the rules for a crash are more extensive than this but they will be posted with every site's landing page.

again, i can't tell you how confident we are in the site and network and i promise that server crashes are not SOP for royal vegas. give it a shot (pleeeeeeze), i want to use you as a "before and after", 1,000+ post believer after the first event is done. prima has gotten as big as they are based on this software that has developed to a superior product through continual upgrades and improvements..

there will be no problems with the server, i promise

Default Granny or somebody???

Will we be able to play from ANY Prima site or will we have to play from RV? I do have an account there but prefer TGC.

Default Structure of the opening event - $25 Rebuys?

Hi,

I signed up to RVP just for the ISOP. I noticed already on their Multi-table tab they have the event up but it says....

ISOP April Final $1000+$100

In the text though it has

"Play your way into the ISOP Grand Championship in March 2006. 1 in 5 from this final win seats. $25+$2.50 rebuy/add-on in the first hour"

My questions,

1. What is this 1 in 5 thing they talk about

2. Are we going to have a $1000 event with $25 rebuys?

As someone pointed out, RV currently has this set up as a $1000 + 100 with $25+2.5 rebuys and add ons. I am pretty sure this is not the intent, but you may want to contact them about this. You can sign up for this already (I did then withdrew).

$100 juice is pretty steep, too. They typically follow the industry standard, so I am guessing this is just a place holder until they get things squared away.

Give it a day or two and I imagine this will sort itself out.
