sounds like some idiot drove into pedestrians on the sidewalk - I walk that area all the time - what a bummer - 2 dead...

I meant to look this up when I got home yesterday. I was on the Strip shortly after 8:00pm and a big section of the Strip from Flamingo to Harman (Bally's to Alladin) was completely shut down. I had never seen that done before.

It seemed the Strip was shut down for 2-3 hours.

I was always paranoid that something like that would happen - not that someone was going to go nuts and purposefully plow people down, but some sort of pedestrian accident. There are a lot of people walking down the strip and a lot of cars driving down it. There is no margin between the sidewalk and the road, so someone could trip into the street and get hit. Rails would be nice.
