Default Tough fold in a Party 30+3

704 entered, ~250 left. Avg. is 3k, hero has 4.5k, villain has 2.5k. BB is t150
UTG+1 limps,
Hero limps UTG+1
MP limps
SB folds, BB (villain) checks
Flop: A6h2h (t675)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, hero bets t250, MP folds, BB calls t250, UTG+1 folds
Turn: A6h2h 7d (t1175)
BB checks, Hero bets t350, BB calls t350
River: As62h 7d Ts
BB bets t1500 (allin), Hero folds

I don't really know about any part in this hand that I did anything right. It looked a lot like a missed flushdraw, because it seemed like a wierd way to play a set/2 pair. I almost insta called because it looked so suspicious, but it would have left me with only t2000 left, and I was still in good shape with the t3500 i was left with after the fold. Is this standard?

well, I have no idea what you had, but I'm calling with any ace here.

It is just too strange of a bet. He's calling all the way, but then goes AI on the river when he has more than the pot??? I'm calling with many pairs here. Maybe draw the line at less than second buton.

lol sorry everyone, i had AJo. CDC, do you really think that this is a call with that range of hands? I was getting 3:1, and I figured that I had him beat more than that, But i just thought that I could wait for a better spot and protect my stack till then. Do I just play too passive? I'm having a struggle recently because I used to play way too loose and pay off way too much in mtt's, and have been told that countless times; i'm trying to find a happy medium between to loose and i guess what is here too passive. Thanks again

well, I probably pay off too much too, but it is just way too strange of a bet. I mean what is this bet trying to accomplish? Is it really a misguided value bet? AI with MORE than the pot.... just doesn't make sense.

witht the amounts you were betting it seemed like you were drawing him in. i think you have to bet more on the turn, and probably more on the flop too.

Why did you make such small flop and turn bets? On the turn
I bet at least 3/4 of the pot. With you making such smallish bets you are faced with a difficult river decision.
I think the hand would have played easier if you didn't minibet all streets. On the river I have no idead where I am.
