Re: QJs - victim of entrapment
I agree with BWebb that three-betting the flop is probably just spewing. Betting out is obviously correct but I think this is a great situation to reevaluate based on the turn card, as the draw heavy board means our equity will always be kind of suspect and a safe turn card (or one that improves us!) will usually do a lot to define our equity.

[ QUOTE ] I'm either three betting the flop or CRing it. Not doing that IMO is a mistake. The rest looks okay [/ QUOTE ] 3 betting is just spewing. You hand isn't very strong and a ton of cards can kill it on the turn if you are ahead. Why invest 3/4 sbs on the flop when you have a very good chance of having to check/fold the turn? [/ QUOTE ] I see what you're sayin. I'm maybe a little too used to short handed play. I still think that a CR on teh flop might be best. as long as the board is okay, I want to get to showdown with this hand, and as cheaply as possible |

Re: QJs - victim of entrapment
On the flop, I think CO flopped a straight, has a set, or has the nutflush draw. I think hero is almost always dead here, but almost always is not the same as always, and he's getting a good price on the turn. Same thing on the river.

Re: QJs - victim of entrapment
i'm missing how we're getting a good price to call the turn? i think what ever draw check/3-bet has us beat and our 4-outer doesn't have the odds.
preflop and flop are fine. c/r is junk IMO to allow any lone heart or T to draw out when it is likely we have the best hand. |

I'm in the middle of 5 players and nobody has shown any aggression. If all went perfectly the button bets and I can face the CO with a 2-bet call. My best chance here (imo at least) is leading out. I cut-off the odds for other Q's to chase a gutshot, and can use a potential raise from behind me to protect against a bigger field. |
