It obviously takes thick skin to fit in, which I have, but it also feels weird to post a reply offering advice when you have no posts, so it is difficult to get started. I'm sure there are a ton of potential posters who feel this way, and will probably always be lurkers.

An opinion or question, an open mind, and a thick skin are all you need. I'm pretty sure everybody here has offered up something stupid or ill-informed at least once (more than once in my case ). Welcome to the forum.

I don't have a thick skin, so I will mostly be staying a lurker.

This is a good effort but until hands actually start getting discussed on a regular basis instead of everybody posting their redundant opinion and leaving, it won't really have much effect. There's a tendency to ignore anyone's posts outside of a core group of posters...

Don't worry about that too much. I was sensitive for a my first few posts. Get to know the players/posters. They have a lot to offer as you have already read. You'll find they have even more to offer when you contribute.

Hi, I'm Monty. I've been lurking for 2 years.

Up until a few weeks ago I played 5/10 and 10/20 6 max. Then, the skins split so I cashed out most of my roll with the intention of moving it back to Party. Then, because I'm incredibly lazy, I never bothered to move it to Party, and instead I'm seeing if I can re-build my roll from the $100 I found in my old Party account.

I figured this might be a good time to play more NL and tournaments. So now I'm playing the $25 6-max NL, lots of limit and NL 10 20 and 30 STTs, a few MTTs, and some .50/1 6 max limit tables.

I have discovered that tournaments are good for me because of the reduced skill factor. And they're good entertainment value for your poker dollar!

My hobbies are posting about Poker to OTT and berating tilters.

Is this intended to inspire them to start posting or to chase them away?

He wants them to start posting and become knowns. If they can't do that, I think he wants them out. I'm the same way...trying to unlurk the lurking. They are probably knowledgable, especially if they are long time lurkers. Their input would be good for HUSH.

Stheif can be abrasive at times. Trust me, they'll get over it and find out he's fine.
