I don't know what your budget for this thing is, but it sounds like it's somewhat substantial. Take him to Central/South America or Europe, maybe Asia or Australia. Let him see what life is like in other parts of the world and be there to experience it with him. |

white water rafting in Maine. The West Branch of the Penobscot is the best of the rivers. Though there is an age limit...might be 15. In which case the Kennebec is great. Three day schooner out of Camden wouldn't suck either. [/ QUOTE ] This is correct. I did this while at school and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. Perhaps paintballing as well would be cool. |

Re: Where would a 14 year old boy want to go with his father?
Have you ever been to Killarney Provencial Park? It's an amazing place, and just a three hour drive north of Toronto. My father and I spent countless weekends there, with many pictures and memories to show for it.
Killarney Provincial Park Friends Of Killarney Considered one of Ontario Parks’ crown jewels, this majestic, mountainous wilderness of sapphire lakes and jack pine ridges so captivated artists – including The Group of Seven’s A.Y. Jackson – that they persuaded the Ontario government to make it a park. Once higher than the Rocky Mountains, La Cloche’s white quartzite cliffs gleam like snowy peaks from afar. Where paddlers, hikers, skiers and snowshoers now journey through in this craggy, imposing landscape, there is evidence that others passed thousands of years before. |

Golf. It is something you will be able to share as long as you both have your health. If you don't currently play you can learn together.
I started going with my son when he was 13. He is now 25 and we will be taking our annual trip right after Labor Day. Just the 2 of us together is something I can't describe. Only those who have done something similar will fully understand. Good luck and I hope your experience is as good as mine has been and continues to be. Eric |
