He won't get blamed for this loss and he was smart enough not to say something extremely stupid in that short statement. Then again, he's only been in politics for six years. So, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up as a TV guy. FYI, Edwards Senate term ends on 1/3/05. He did not run for re-election while running for Vice President. The Republicans took that North Carolina seat tonight.

Edwards was up for re-election this year and didn't run because it was clear he would lose his seat. Republicans have picked up that seat tonight. The only direction that Edwards can now look is a presidential run in 08 where he will encounter a political heavyweight ala Hilary Clinton.
