I just played these two hands back to back:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG (t1815)
Button (t3170)
SB (t2260)
Hero (t1755)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
[color=#666666]2 folds</font>, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t100) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font>
[color=#CC3333]SB bets t50</font>, Hero calls t50.

Turn: (t200) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks.

I'm not sure how I could've played the first hand differently, and as for the second hand, the guy was loose aggressive and I knew he'd bet it for me the whole way but wouldn't call any raise or reversal.

If your opponent in hand #1 had absolutly zippo and was just trying to put out a feeler on the flop to see if he could possibly take it down then yes, you played it perfectly. He's not paying out off no matter what comes.

But if he has any sort of draw whatsoever (and on that board there are a number of them), he'll only pay you off when he's drawing, not when he fails to hit.

The sense I got was that he was poking at the pot (he'd done it three times before, and I'd call with ace high and he'd check the turn and the pot was mine), but you never know. Trouble with hitting quads on the turn is that you end up slowing down no matter what. When that fourth 7 hit I was just about dumbfounded.
