given everyone's (incorrect) opinion that you should call any two here, yes, pushing is terrible. i started this thread because i wanted discuss how you still can have fold equity with less than 2bb. this is a situation that i push any two in, and it has yielded good results.

[/ QUOTE ]

you only have FE if BB is a horrible player and you said he was a good player.

Please explain to me how the BB can even consider handing you a 1400+ chip pot for 400 more when he himself only has 500 chips left?

edit: not to mention he's posting 200 more the very next hand, i seriously hope I'm completley misunderstanding the question here. You could push, the button could call, the SB could call, and the BB still has to call. There is no possible way he can fold here under any circumstances.

fold, and i dont think its that close. if its folded around to him, yer pot committed in yer bb so jump in there with whatever. much better than shoving 102 here. by a lot. holla

[/ QUOTE ]

pretty much if its walked around. holla

so you are calling any two in the bb here?

(although if it gets 2-3way before it gets to BB, he's folding

[/ QUOTE ]

The BB has to call here no matter what as long as UTG pushes. He has absolutley nothing to gain by folding regardless of whether or not the two bigger stacks both call.

[/ QUOTE ]

on the contrary IMO. if UTG gets a call from the other two on his push...he has no choice but to fold - as he MUST beat any/all three to take 3rd. there is no 'side action' between him and UTG. he must beat everyone. (not saying he might not try, but it would be an easy fold for me)

Why in the world would the BB not call with any two? There is no math where folding would make any sense.

but the BB has UTG covered, so even if he busts, as long as UTG also busts the BB will takes 3rd. Either way UTG needs to bust bc if he doesn't then BB has 500 chips left and UTG will have won a 2400+ chip pot. The BB might as well help the cause by putting his hand in there too and who know's, he might get lucky and actually take a decent stack into the money.
