Default Iraq Staves Off Civil War

Looks like the Kurds and Shiets got the Sunnis to come along with the new Contitution by promising they can try to change it later if they don't like it. In my opinion, this puts the civil war off by one maybe two years.

I think it depends on the influence of al Qaeda terror attacks on the population and on sunni insurgents. But I'm no geopolitics expert...

I don't think there's much chance of a civil war in Iraq. There is a need to defend against an Al Qaeda led overthrow of a democratic government. But, that campaign would be fought by foreign fighters.

That's an interesting spin Dynasty....
Iraq Patriots from all parts of the country fighting against a common foe long enough to work all the kinks out of the Government.....
Then again, the Sunnis could back Al Queada....After all as a minority, they got special treatment for backing Hussien, even though he was one of them.....but he did run a secular dictatorship and didn't base anything he did on religion....
Food for thought..... Thanks.

What are the sides in the event of civil war? Sunnis vs all, Kurds vs. Sunnis, Shiites vs. all, etc?

Those Kurds seem like a tough people, but wouldn't the Shiites be able to enlist Iranian support?

If Iran wanted to get involved directly in a war that the U.S. may play a role in, sure. More likely they'd provide a lot of indirect assistance.
