Different strains give different highs. There are two major types of strains: 1.) Indica - usually a couch locked/deep body stone and 2.) Sativa - Gives a more "heady" high...more uplifting. Also, there are strains that are a sativa/indica mix which give different highs.

I used to get some bad schwag from a local dealer and like you found myself getting different types of highs from the same bag. Now, I have some real dank bud available to me, that's all I know. The buzz is consistent and the smoke is sweet/fruity tasting.

Also, if some of the bud in your bag came from one plant and some came from another, it could be a difference in potency. They might be the same strain, but one of the plants could have produced a much more potent bud.
