I thought my post was very innocuous. I am surprised it was deleted.

It's too bad this tournament isn't on ESPN's normal schedule. Poker could still get a big boost if more women played.

A celebrity win like this can only boost the popularity of the game.

They aren't airing the ladies' event this year?

I was very annoyed to see that the Women's event was not on the TV schedule that ESPN has posted. And I laughed out loud when I saw that Jennifer Tilly won it. Now ESPN knows what a bad mistake they made. Apparently they have no clue that times have changed and even women like me - middle aged and totally not interested in sports - are watching poker on ESPN. And some of us were interested in seeing the Women's event.

Cudos to Jennifer!!

ESPN did tape the final 4, so they'll surely stick in footage of Tilly's win (along with Johnny Chan winning his 10th bracelet) into the 2500 NL tournament broadcast (with 1 name player at the final table). It seems Harrah's and ESPN really gave the women's event no respect from what I've read about it. That all changed when Tilly makes the final table though, and then they're falling all over themselves to get coverage of the event.

Good to know. I busted out just before the dinner break and there was no evidence that ESPN knew we were even there.
