Default PV\'s table VPIP

I've been at a table for 4 hands, PV tells me that the table has an average vpip of 17%.

How long do I need to be at the table before I get a good idea of what the average vpip is?

Is it a function of the players' vpip at all tables (i.e. their total of all the hands that you've played with them / mined), or their vpip at THIS table during THIS session?

Dunno if PV works the same as GT+, which I'm using. With GT+ I tend to look more at individual player VPIPs than the table VPIP, since it can be skewed by players that I have many hands on.

I also tend to rely more on a visual (non-PT) inspection of ASF rather than VPIP. If it's 3 or less to the flop consistently over a couple orbits, I'm out of there.

I have an even more basic question.

What is PV and can I use it with Windows 98?

Thanks.

I'm going to get a new Dell soon. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth going for the extra cash for a 2001FP so I can eventually multi-table 4 tables and have really high quality. I am 2 tabling sometimes these days with an overlap that is tolerable. Based on the frenzy of thinking required for 2 tables at times, I'm starting to think that playing 3-4 tables is really silly other than to clear a bonus quicker if you have many bonus clearing options at many sites all at the same time (which I rarely do because of limits to how much poker I can take).

Right now my goal is to become as good as I can and I think single tabling with high levels of concentration is the way the go. Sorry for all the hot air. I'm just thinking out loud.

FWIW, I *think* that PV stores the tables' VPIP when you leave, so it may not be accurate for a couple orbits, because it is using old data from when you were playing at that table before (possibly yesterday, or couple days ago, I'm guessing).
