Bingo isn't gambling, it is just boring.

For those of you who keep saying playing poker is a sin....

If your a Christian then why are you gambling in the first place. If you've already broken one sin then why not another.

Where in the Bible do you see it prohibiting poker/calling it a sin?

There are some general principles the Bible teaches about stewardship of money that would seem to apply to gamboolers and many house advantage forms of gambling. For a winning poker player with a long term view consistently making +EV decisions I don't see where its really clearly spelled out.

Feel free to let me know if I'm missing something.

Just b/c something is boring doesn't mean it isn't gambling. Caribbean Stud is gambling, right?

FWIW, I'm a Christian and I feel a sense of concern for my fellow man's wellbeing.

Ok I'm brand new to the forums, I've read a few books, and I'm starting slow on Empire and PokerStars. I'm already wondering what everyone is referring to when they say 'winning 1 BB/100' ?? Big Bet? Big Blind? Thanks in advance.

BB = Big Bet. So if you're aiming for 2BB/100, you want to average 2 big bets net profit per 100 hands. In a $1/$2 game, this is $4/100 hands, in a $3/$6, $12/100 hands, etc.

Check this out if you get lost by a lot of the acronyms, abbreviations, etc.
