Interesting river card w top 2, Party 2/4

Villain was 27/3/1 slightly loose passive type. The river plan was to fold to a raise. I was calling a raise on the turn and calling down a river blank FWIW.

If the villian is passive and 3bets the flop then to me it looks like he's holding two pair or a set courtesy of the blind special. Seems as if he's scared of the flush potential. Did he fold to your river bet?

On the river, I think you get called by better hands significantly more than you get called by worse hands, and rarely get better hands to fold. I'd check behind.
