what is annie duke doing on the Tournament of Champions?

and if any of you know who won it, please do not post it here, i don't wanna know, for once i wanna find out who wins when i watch the thing.

anyways, What is Annie Duke doing on the tournament of champions? not only does she categorically suck, she's one of the most class-less players in poker. (article on duke by negreaneu: http://www.recpoker.com/article.php?...mp;ID=129476). i mean when theres ppl like negreaneu, hansen and greenstein out there, why would you choose annie duke? affirmitive action for poker? it just doesnt make sense. if she's not the first one to go, the world just isn't fair.

I am a big Daniel fan but I think he has matured since those days and I sure he would deal with things differently now. I thought I read Annie state that Daniel apologised to her.

Annie is certainly one of the top few women tourney players. She just won a WSOP bracelet, has had lots of ESPN face time and ESPN decided to invite her.

Ok, let's just agree they want to have at least one woman player representing. I have no problem with that. But if they are going to put a woman on it should have been Harmon. By far the better woman player. Plays much higher limits and so on. You could argue that Annie is 2nd best, but Jeniffer should have gotten the nod here if you're going to have the best woman player play.

However, Annie has done a great job in self promotion, whatever you think of her. ESPN has basically featured some clip of her in every show, so the audience knows her much better then Harmon (Harmon's had health problems, too, which may have limited her exposure). That, and her brother is Howard Lederer, and I think he may have some additional political weight in these things. Oh, she did win a bracelet this year, too.

This is uncalled for. First of all, Daniel has been pretty rude himself. But her behavior is pretty benign compared to the stuff Bonetti and Matusow pull regularly.

Saying that she catagorically sucks is also a with out a doubt false. WSOP bracelet holder suck? She is definitely a champion.

Whether or not she belongs in this group? Well, it is an invatational so she was invited and she belongs. They actually left Daniel Negreanu out, and he was the player of the year!

Annie has more history at the WSOP than any other woman.

She belongs here more than Gus belongs at the PSI event.
