I have $700. At what table (limit) should I be playing with this bankroll?

Re: Money and limits
Common thought is to keep 300BBs for the limit you play. So give 1/2 a shot and move down to 0.50/1 if it's not going well.

1/2 limit. 300BB's is a good bankroll.

Re: Money and limits
Wow! I am actually at the 2/4 tables and doing quite well. The reason I was asking is b/c I was thinking of moving up to 3/6 or 5/10 but fear my $$$ cannot handle the swings at the moment.
The other reason being is that the players at lower limits are just too loose and I do better at the 2/4's but, currently these tables are becoming loose and I see players making miracle fluches and straights with hands they should otherwise throw away. |

Re: Money and limits
Hi there,
Even 2-4 is a stretch - you could do a single buy-in at 3-6 or 5-10 but on bad run and you'd be down like half your bankroll...I'm sitting at like 3K and still only play 3-6 / 4-8 or 1-2 NL. Good luck! You want people to chase their miracle runner runners but without an adequate bankroll, you can't expect a long term +EV to outlast your own short money. |

[/ QUOTE ] The worse your opponents are the more profitable it is for you. If you don't believe/know that, do NOT move up to 5/10 or 3/6. I'm not kidding. 2/4 is a stretch, it's easy to drop 300 in a night there, and that's nearly half your bankroll. I had 1200$ when I first moved up to 2/4, and stayed there until I had about 2500$. When I was 8-tabling 3/6 I had 600BB's in my BR, and now that I"m 4-tabling 5-10 6max, I've got 500BB's. Having a huge bankroll is a good thing. Don't rush up the limits. |

Re: Money and limits
then it'll hurt that much more when you lose a $75-100 pot then a $30-40 one
