Default $.25/.50 Razz Hand

Some money mysteriously appeared in my Full Tilt account, so I've been playing a little razz. To say that razz is not my best game would be an understatement. This hand just cropped up in the big game:

I am forced high with (T8)8. Naturally, I have no intention of playing this hand, especially since everyone else is showing 6 or lower. Two players fold, a Six calls, another player folds, and a Deuce calls. The dead cards are 6, 4, 2.

On fourth, I catch an Ace, giving me the low board. I check with the intention of folding, but the next guy showing 29 checks as well. 7K now bets (!), and I am of course seized by inspiration. Reasoning that I can represent a strong hand and that 29 is probably paired, I now check-raise. 29 folds, and 7K calls.

On fifth street, I pair my Ace, while 7K catches a Five. He checks, and I check behind.

On sixth street, I hit a Seven and the other guy catches a Jack. Foolishly thinking that he might fold, I bet when he checks to me.

On the river, I of course make Aces full, which means my hand is a pair of Aces. I figure the only way to win this pot is to bluff, and do so.

I just thought this was an interesting hand, and it's not every day that you make a big full house in razz.

If he called you, you should have said "Well, at least I got the high"

That's always good for a laugh.

Did he fold? It's actually good that you bet on sixth, because it sets up the bluff on seventh if you wanted to. Nice hand! Nice check raise on 4th too.

EDIT: Anyone that wants to make some money show up on my FTP account, pm me.

I think this works against good players who actually think about what you might actually have but against some clown I would imagine you got called. Since you were just messing around I have to say ni han to you mr B. I still gotta get in on one of these horse tournaments sometime...

Dude, Chris, it was a $.25/.50 razz hand. I didn't necessarily post it because I thought I played it well.

One thought I had was maybe I should have bet fifth. I think that one can reasonably infer that the Five on fifth street paired the other guy. He can't possibly call with a King and a pair bigger than mine, can he?

Seriously though, do you find it difficult to try considering you sometimes play 20/40 and 30/60? I mean, 30/60 is 120 times the stakes.
