question on \"doing business\"
my question is not about running it multiple times but, rather, whether it's allowed to not run it at all. for example, in a 10-20 game with a 2k stack, you raise AA utg to 100, get a couple callers, button reraises to 600, you push and button calls. he has KK, and to reduce variance (or because you only brought 1 buy-in with you to this cardroom, or many other reasons and factors) you decide you're willing to sacrifice a few percentage points of ev, so you offer to give him 20% of the pot, the cards are never run and it's on to the next hand. is a deal like this kosher?

I have had two similar experiences with this situation, once in a Detroit casino and once in AC...Both times the players were not allowed to "do business" at the table. Both casinos wanted to protect against collusion.

when i was a kid i once walked into a deli and asked for a pastrami and swiss on rye, the guy told me they were a kosher deli, and i was like, "ok...and?" so i guess it could be room-dependent whether this kind of deal is allowed; for jrforman, which a/c casino were you in that didn't allow it?

As long as its not a tourney, I can't see any valid objections. If you were "colluding" wouldn't you just chop the money later anyway?
