Re: i probly should stop autobetting flops----AJ in 3way pot
I usually bet this flop. But lately, I've been checking this type of flop after 3 betting preflop. I'm surprised how often it is checked around. After it is checked, I'll usually bet the turn and often have had several players fold. Seems like they fear that the flop check is a big hand trying to trap players. This has worked frequently. I would not play it this way every time, but mix it up.

Re: i probly should stop autobetting flops----AJ in 3way pot
I know what you mean, but I think it's more illusion than anything. The players you fold typically don't have a hand or draw. In any case, definitely check the pot size before deciding to bet or check flops like this. Here, the pot is 9SB and Hero needs to bet 1SB with a good potential to fold at least one player and pick up the pot UI on the flop or turn. This flop, in light of the preflop, makes it very hard for either player to continue without a king or strong draw. Definitely bet, and it's not close.

Re: i probly should stop autobetting flops----AJ in 3way pot
I never three-bet in this situation. Why do people think this is standard?
The SB is obviously so loose/passive to cold-call 1.5 that he's not going to go away with an autobet on the flop. Button is going to have the odds to call of course. By the time you get to the flop, you've got 9 SBs in there, and are committed to autobetting the flop--and nobody is going to fold this flop getting 10:1 or 11:1 odds, even if all they have is overcards. I'd rather take the 5:1 odds on the flop by calling, then trying to checkraise the button's autobet if the SB folds, or bet out if I catch a piece of the flop. I think the big problem with three-betting these 3-way hands is that you commit to firing an ineffective flop autobet, which means you may well fire on the turn again. Fifth street comes, and you're either going to check and get bluffed off the hand, or you're going to fire AJo unimproved. I'd much rather three-bet an aggressive SB trying to get heads up against the button, or to play AJo with a threebet from the small blind. But from the BB after a button raise, and the SB call... I'm inclined to just call and close the action |

This link is busted. Can you repost? I'd like to read the thread you're talking about.
