[ QUOTE ]
The photo by Denver-based Rick Wilking, taken over a man's shoulder, shows an official -- identified in the caption as President Bush -- scribbling in pencil on a small white piece of paper that already contains the words: "I think I MAY NEED A BATHroom break?" It is unclear if Bush is in the process of responding to that message or wrote it himself.

All I have to say is...lame.

I hate Bush, but this is a cheap shot, IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think we all agree this is just political silliness, and no one is taking this very seriously.

True,

But there are so few times when a thinking person can support Bush, I thought I'd throw him a bone on this one

Default Ronnie was house trained

[ QUOTE ]
The image is a fabrication.

[/ QUOTE ]

What's telling is that people do not immediately discount this. It kinda has a probability of being true, significant enough to have Bush opponents giggling and Bush supporters worried ("Oh no, what now, George??" etc).

I do not think the picture is true. I think it is a well played hoax. (The weak-passive tone of the "note" is spot on!) But I also cannot think of many recent presidents for whom such a story would sound true.

A classic examination of the right wing echo chamber defense:

1) Deny

The picture is obviously a fabrication by the liberal leaning left wing pinko media establishment. Once this is proven false ...

2) SPIN

Obviously the President thinking quickly and wishing to avoid international incident, consulted with the Sec. of State over correct BATHroom procedures. BATHroom is a secret codewode that is used in matters involving National Security, first designed by Winston Churchill.

3) Deflect

Hey, John Kerry went windsurfing! Could you imagine what would have happened if the Evil Clinton was still in office?
