Default Please Miss can I goto the toilet?

Vital UN discussions world leaders around a table, Bush scribbles down urgently on a note and passes it to Ms Rice behind him. is it a confirmation of a new policy, a key unveiling of a new breakthrough in the fight against terorism being discussed no far more important than that....

“I think I may need a bathroom break? Is this possible.”

And just to make sure that everybody knows...

The image is a fabrication and has been admitted as such by Reuters. If it has been produced as a satire it could well have been funny. But instead it was presented by a journalist and Reuters as actual news. It wasn't until Reuters was called out by several people that they admitted it was a fake.

Um. The image isn't a fabrication. And Reuters didn't admit it was. What Reuters did admit was that they used Photoshop to enhance the original photo to make it readable. Link.

To deflect attention from the note shown above, Bush has released his notes from the first debate last year:

And that article is different than the one I saw last night. More recent, so I guess that story stands now.

What's telling is that people do not immediately discount this. It kinda has a probability of being true, significant enough to have Bush opponents giggling and Bush supporters worried ("Oh no, what now, George??" etc).

I do not think the picture is true. I think it is a well played hoax. (The weak-passive tone of the "note" is spot on!) But I also cannot think of many recent presidents for whom such a story would sound true.
