AKo improves on river....raise?
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, CO calls. River: (7.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) CO bets villain is loose and semi-aggressive I didn't see much of a reason to raise this flop. I raise this turn a lot here as the last bet going in pot UI; however, I thought I would show this hand down and didn't feel like putting more in than I had to. When the ace hits and he bets, I always think...."hhmmm...he doesn't care." How many raise here? Anyone play the hand different in general? |

Re: AKo improves on river....raise?
I used to play this hand the way you did. Lately I've been folding the turn.
Probably the reason why he doesn't care about the river is that he's on a pure bluff. He might pay you off with ace high, but I'd just call the river. |

Re: AKo improves on river....raise?
count me in for a raise. i don't think its a "he doesn't care" scenario as much as a "hoping his 9 or PP is still good" scenario. if the flush was not bd i would maybe just call if he is the type to bet his draws.

Sure your hand might be best, but are you going to call the river UI with AK high? |

Re: AKo improves on river....raise?
Either fold the turn or raise the river - if you aren't planning on the raising when you hit, then you don't have sufficient odds to call the turn.

Re: AKo improves on river....raise?
Reads?
River: If he's a LAG/donk, I raise and expect to get paid off by K9 or whatever. If he's average, I just call the river. If he's good, I never make it to the river (fold the turn UI). Tom |

I call a 3bet and brace myself for A9.
