Default HU against a decent opponent in the blinds

I don't have any real stats yet, but in a couple orbits, he's played some good hands. I have no idea what the limp means.

Thoughts?

Raise the turn or river, your getting paid off by jacks, and possibly even underpairs or ace high.

Do you pay off a river raise? If so, with what hands?

This is a HU situation and I think you'll make a profit by raising and calling a 3-bet even if you knew you were behind every time you'll get 3-betted. (of course you wouldn't call the 3-bet if you knew you were behind, but I think the value missed from the times he'll call is greater than the possible $$$ you lose when calling his 3-bet)

Wow you must be running really bad. I'd raise turn and/or river and think about capping a 3 bet.

I know you are worried about the straight and flush. But I'd still raise the river.

I'm not running poorly. I'm glad I posted this hand though.

It's quite common for me to misapply concepts once I learn them, so let me put what I was thinking about out here, so we can work with it.

A while back I posted a line from hepfap that I didn't understand. A couple posters worked with me, and I believe I finally understood it.

It was about river raises HU. You need to believe you're good 65% of the time and also believe he'll call more than 55% of the time for the raise to have value.

I wasn't convinced I had both of those met here.

Please flame if necessary.

Oh boy. I'd raise the flop. Since you didn't I'd raise the turn. Since you didn't I'd raise the river. If at any point I got 3 bet I would cap. Open completors don't have to have the nuts to lead the flop.
