Only reason I posted this is because I was playing. CO raises preflop. Flop comes AAA. BB Checks. CO bets BB raises. Turn is a 6 BB bets CO calls and is all in. River 5. BB turns over A8o. CO turns JJ for the BB JP made 339 playeers share.

I think a more interesting question is what are the odds that if someone plays 4 BB tables on party for say, 30K hands a month, what are the chances that they will at least see the quals met and get a players share. I leave it to the people who can count.

Its only more interesting cause i thought of it.

In Vegas joints, you have to have a pair of your 4 of a kind in the hole (pocket pair) to be eligble. Basically all bad beats require both hole cards to be played here. There are a few exceptions to the norm, but very few of them actually.

I see that.

What I'm saying is that out here if you have 4 of a kind...IE: 4 aces, you MUST have 2 aces in the hole. Not A8 as the 8 is a kicker. There is no kicker for 4 of a kind if you have to play at least one of the 4 of a kind in the hole. If the board reads AAA72, and you hold A8, the 8 is not a kicker because no one else can have the same 4 of a kind to compare a kicker to. Kicker is null'd.

That and the reasoning that it's harder to hit a bad beat if you have to have both hole cards playing, keeps the jackpots higher and the house makes more money via more players hoping for it to hit.

uhm,,,,everything you just said was confusing.

Conditions for a JP payout are Aces full of jacks or better beaten. Both hole cards must play.

Player 1 holds A8
Player 2 hold QQ

Board AA24A

Player one has Four aces with an eight kicker, which plays.
Player Two has a full house, aces full of queens, which loses. Conditions are met.

Now, proceed with your thought process.

I could be wrong, but it takes 5 cards to make a poker hand, so by all means the 8 counts as being used.
