Default Want an Analysis J8 soioted

Five handed live game

Table Utg is "anything can win"
Hero is UTG+1
CO is a weak- tighty. His biggest leak is that he loves to cold- call which I tend to over- exploit, of sorts
SB is loose, raising wiht any paint
BB is...

Hero has been playing very tight, decides to change gears a bit.

Hero holds J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG limps, Hero raises, CO calls SB completes,BB folds UTG calls.

9 small bets

Flop: AJ3r

SB and UTG checks Hero bets, CO calls, SB and UTG fold

5.5 BB

I bet because I wanted to represent the Ace, I also had the Jack, which can improve

turn: J

Hero bets, CO calls

7.5 BB

River: 5

9.5 BB

Co looks at me and says that I hade exactly five outs on the flop, which I replied, "Poker tends to reward bad play."

Honestly, I bet because I thought I could win the pot on the flop getting 9-1, I felt that I could win this like 25% of the time, considering my competition.

Anyway, tell me what you all think.

Wether you want to change gears or not I don't like preflop. J8s doens't do good with one almost random limper and against three other randoms. Ask yourself how often you'd even rasie it first in here,,?

Rest is standard since you raised preflop.

UTG+1 in a five handed game is the CO so something stinks

raising from the CO with J8s isn't that bad if the time is right

the flop bet is super easy.

Against villians who I have control over I"ll make this raise too. However you said there' sa guy behind you who likes to coldcall. That would tighten me up unless he was very predictable postflop. Postflop play is 100% standard.

what was your reason for changing gears? were you not getting enough action? preflop seems like a flippant result of boredom.
postflop, as everyone else said, is standard.
