not seeing enough showdowns?
I have been playing 1/2 SH (10k hands) trying to build up a BR for 3/6 SH. ALmost there, but want to fix any problems before I move up. Below are my stats. I usually play in very loose games, Table average VPIP 45+.
VPIP 24% PFR 12% AF 2.94 Flop 3.28 Turn 3.68 River 1.8 WSD 30.10 W$SD 56.90 Folded to River Bet 44.89% My main concern is that I may not be seeing enough showdowns, and that I may be folding too much on the river. Any thoughts? Another concern is my aggression. SHould my flop aggression be higher than my turn aggression? Is the flop aggression too low? turn too high? what about the river? Am I correct that I should probably be raising about 3-4% of my hands. How does this part of my game look? Thanks for any help. Let me know if there are any other stats I should be including. |

Re: not seeing enough showdowns?
My recollection is that people here usually recommend folding at the river less than you. But I just want to comment that I don't know how that concensus has been reached, aside from winning players reporting their own numbers.
Is there really any empirical evidence that folding at the river 35% is better than 45%? And another thing I've always wondered about is how closely, if at all, the fold at river number is connected to VP$P. |

In theory, you could see a lot of flops and fold every time you encountered a river bet. You could see very few flops and never fold a river, etc. They are completely independent, no? |

Re: not seeing enough showdowns?
Your went to showdown is much lower than many of the good posters here. Mine is also at 30% and try as I might I have a super hard time finding more places to showdown. The place I try to do it is heads up because everything is so marginal and LAGs will keep firing with overcards and underpairs.
It seems that 33-36% is what to shoot for. |

Re: not seeing enough showdowns?
the more my wtsd decreases the more my winrate rises and variance decreases.

Re: not seeing enough showdowns?
My wtsd is about 36 at 25vpip/19pfr. my w$sd is only about 51 though. my fold to river bet is 41, but I run bet/fold and raise/fold way more than I should I think. (210k hands, winrate between 1.5 and 3, mostly at 5/10 but some 10/20 in there too)

200k [/ QUOTE ] i still find it strange that you consider a wsd of 30 to be optimal. |
