Default 3/6.. top two pair in big blind.

kind of a loose passive game. i had noticed that the villian in this hand was hovering around $50 the entire time i was there (about 5-6 orbits) so i'm guessing he was a tightish player. thoughts appreciated.

$3/$6 on absolute.

I am in the big blind with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

utg calls, utg+1 calls, co calls, sb calls, i check.

*** FLOP *** [9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]

sb bets, i raise, two folds, co 3-bets, sb folds, i call.

*** TURN *** [5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]

I bet, villian calls.

*** RIVER *** [6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]

I bet, villian calls.

Well played. I like the flop. By not capping you are conveying a read of top pair okay kicker or PP<99. I think CO with any 9 pair will play back at you on the turn wherein you turn the up heat, except maybe if an A, K or J or T falls because these are likey kickers if CO has a 9, but I wouldn't slow down. I bet the turn and 3 bet; i don't give credit for a straight here yet. River is a bet call, maybe a check call.

You need to cap this flop. Your hand is good but very vulnerable w/ this draw heavy board. Get the money in while your hand is good. The draws cant pay you off when they miss river, collect that money while it can be collected. Also if villain raises a scary turn you probably cant three bet and you therefore become vulnerable to the cheap showdown.

The stop n go doesnt produce anything worthwhile in this hand except lost bets and cheap cards for villain.

You overestimate the drawing potential. CO(villian) has already 3bet this flop, and it is heads up by the time it gets back to hero. Co's 3bet reduces the chance he has a draw to charge, and increases the chance CO is trying to prevent SB (and hero) from drawing. CO might have A4, A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or 45 and/or two spades, but I think he is likely enough to have nines, that hero can sacrifice a small bet on the flop to foster action on the turn.
