Default NL Tourney Reading

I am trying to compile a list of books for a buddy who is a beginng NL tourney player. He will probably start by playing $5 SNG at Poker Stars. Here is what I have so far in order of reading:

1. Winning Low Limit Hold Em - Jones (for HE background)
2. No-Limit Texas Hold Em: Beginners Guide - McEvoy
3. Theory Of Poker - Sklansky
4. Championship Satellite Strategy - McEvoy/Daugherty
5. NL/PL Hold Em - Cloutier/McEvoy
6. PL/NL Poker - Ciaffone
7. Tournament Poker For Advanced Players - Sklansky
8. Championship Tournament Practice Hands - McEvoy/Cloutier

Any thoughts or suggestions.

that time would be much better spent reading and posting hands in the one table tourney forum and the MTT forum.

Yea, get the Jones book out of there if he is playing NL tourneys, if limit tourneys are included then OK, but the McEvoy/Daugherty will cover the basics of NL play and the Jones book isn't needed.

Get rid of the two McEvoy/Cloutier books as the advice is spotty and they are way too weak-tight, particulary for sit and goes. Finally, I'd add a read of the NL section of Super/System and possibly Improve Your Poker by Ciaffone.

Here's my recommended NL reading course for the beginner/novice (in order):

New Player Series, No-Limit Hold 'Em (McEvoy/Daugherty)
Theory of Poker
Tournament Poker for Advanced Players (Sklansky)
Championship Satellite Strategy (McEvoy/Daugherty)
PL/NL Poker (Ciaffone/Reuben))
NL Section of Super/System (Brunson)
Improve Your Poker (Ciaffone0
