I believe this is what seperates a good player that will go broke from a great player that will not go broke. On the table, you need a disregard for money so you will be focused on making the correct decision every hand, no matter how much it costs. If you carry this disregard for money off of the table, you will spend/blow all your winnings and find yourself broke. Many a pro struggle with this problem every day.

I have habbit of using some money on clothes, eating out, travelling, etc. In my opinion you shouldn't see it as a spending, but instead it's long term +ev to remind you why you are working so much. Other positive thing is, I find it easier to play more hands when you do other things aswell to keep your head straight.

This girl came over the other night... yada yada yada... the next morning her car was towed from my lot. Instead of listening to her bitching I just gave her $200 to get out of my face.
