I kept track of my results at Canterbury starting the first time I went there. I stopped about a year later, and started again at some point. I have since stopped, because I don't care. If I have money, I must be winning. I currently have money, ergo, I'm winning.

please note that in no way am i suggesting that you are not a winning player, but sometimes people can think they are ahead of the game when they are really behind. it's easy to do without keeping records.

About 3 months, after I realized that I had to take this stuff seriously if I wanted to win consistently.

I don't play live right now, maybe down the road I will.
How do you keep track of statistics in live play?
Seems like it would be difficult, you can't do it at the table or you would scare the fish wouldn't you?

I have a little notepad. One tickmark for every time the button passes me, one for every hand I play, and notes on which hands I screwed up and/or which ones paid off.

Anyone asks, and I tell them I "got this list, and I'm putting your name on it for making me pay extra to see that last flop."

It doesn't scare anyone off. Seems like most people just consider me a geek.

It's pretty easy if you always use the same bankroll, and don't bust out.
