i want a monitor with 6400x4800 resolution dammit

i saw a thread a long time ago from a guy who wanted to get a monitor that allows 6400x4800 resolution, or 4 monitors that do not have bases, so that they are snuggly fit together.

i couldnt find it in the archives though.

where can i get a monitor/setup like this? is it possible to get a 4 monitor setup that can fold up into a smaller square for transportation? it would be pretty sweet to carry it around with me along with my laptop whenever i go away for a few days.

There are companies that do professional video displays for traders, etc. and conference rooms that could probably set up something like this. Not cheap though, expect to pay a premium for the monitors as well as whatever aftermarket stuff they do to put it into one unit. I know I've seen links in the Zoo before for stuff like this. Search Google.

4 x (1600 x 1200) isn't 6400 x 4800, it's 3200 x 2400

This monitor is 3840 x 2400, but it's not cheap [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Most monitor companies make some sort of multi display stand that fits into the original stand/base slot. You can probably special order from a dealer. Viewsonic does for sure.
