My girlfriend doesnt play and she has never had a problem getting a drink when she is with me. Some places are stingy about it but drop the waitress a red and there wont be any more issues.

[/ QUOTE ]

sweet, thanks.

keep dropping the reds each time?

[/ QUOTE ]

Personal choice. When I am playing craps I like to drink a lot. So a red every time will usually ensure that you arent waiting for drinks. Last time I was playing, every time the waitress would come by she had another drink for me, even though I never asked for it.

They arent dumb. They know the happier you are the more they are making. $5 isnt much for 2 drinks considering if you walked to the bar down the hall you are looking at $12 for 2.

I'm a fan of the "send her to do something really fun - spa, etc" camp. What will you do if she gets bored and wants to chat during your action?

Usually <$100 and she gets access to the Spa Center where she can lounge/relax before and after the massage. Should be good for the +/- 3 hours you will need to win $100 (lol)

yeah....the spa thing isn't a bad idea.

that's pretty much the only time i play poker when i head to the casino with my GF.

She sat behind for about an hour one time but she was pretty bored even while drinking and I said 'so much for that little experiment'.
I couldn't blame her for being bored...it was a boring table.

She doesn't like to gamble at all. She isn't opposed to it...just doesn't like to do it (even if I give her a stack of chips at the BJ table).

But we go down and drink and have a good time...and sit at the BJ table where I play the minimum usually (and also card-count) and just make fun of whatever band is playing or whatnot.

But if we stay for a couple days then she'll most definitely be hitting the spa/pool/workout-room at some point in the morning/aft so I can play poker if I want (or recover from my hangover in the room).

Regarding drinks..I suspect they might be a little stricter about it in A/C but it really should be no big deal.
If the waitress looks at you funny you can just ask some guy at the table who isn't ordering, "Hey...can you order a vodka-tonic because they won't let her order not at the table?" or something like that.
I can't remember the last time I've actually had to do this though.

do they have these spas in the casinos?

because if she's up for it i wouldn't mind setting her up so i could play cards for a few hours without worrying about if she's bored out of her skull

spas are associated with the hotels in Vegas ... and the nicer the hotel the nicer the spa (from what I know). Honestly this is absolutely the best way to go.

The $$$ part of it is trickier with BF/GF situations than with being married. With my wife "we" have a budget for such trips and we build spa $$$ in and poker $$$ in. Its not clear who's paying for what between you and your GF so you guys have to work that out. But having her sweat you may not be the greatest idea. If she has interest in learning the game but is intimidated then hell yes have her sweat you. Its a great way to learn the mechanics of the game and if you have interesting hands you can talk about them later.

If its so that you guys can hang out while your playing then don't do it! Be honest with her "hey, we're going to AC and I want to hang with you and have a great time with you and all, but while we're there I really want to get some poker time in. So, I'm going to play for x time. If you want to go to the spa or if you want to shop or just sleep or whatever cool, and we can sort out when I'm going to play that works with "our" schedule, but I'd really like to get in x time at the tables."

If you can't do that then I hope she's hot, enjoy the sex, and don't get into any long term financial commitments because it ain't gonna work.
