Full tilt\'s petition to get poker in the 2004 olympics...
http://www.pokerinathens.org
They are trying (in vein) to make this happen, but might as well show whoever they are handing this petition over to the interest that poker has nowadays, even though I don't even know if it is a sport, but what the hell! NOTE: this is a crosspost I made in the 1 table tournie forum too. |

Re: Full tilt\'s petition to get poker in the 2004 olympics...
I think this is just a marketing ploy. They can advertise for Poker in Athens, but not Full Tilt Poker. Anyone that goes to the pokerinathens website will be generously dosed with FT propaganda. Smart idea.

Re: Full tilt\'s petition to get poker in the 2004 olympics...
They had better be bluffing. Any serious push to have poker included in the olympics would necessate mandatory drug tests at all major poker tournaments.
This is not without precedent... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...2Fwbridg02.xml Bridge player is stripped of medal for refusing drug test By Patrick Jourdain, Bridge Correspondent, in Montreal (Filed: 02/09/2002) The world of bridge was in uproar yesterday after a drug scandal at the world open championships in Montreal. Disa Eythorsdottir, an American professional, was stripped of her silver medal for refusing to take a drug test. The World Bridge Federation was forced to hold an unprecedented emergency meeting to determine how to discipline her. Random drug testing for bridge players at world championships was introduced in January 2000 as part of the WBF campaign for bridge to become an Olympic sport. |

Everyone knows that the bridge player in question was using steroids. Obviously, you've never been hit in the eye by a steroid using player throwing cards. It hurts, and it can cause permanent damage.
It's no joke, there's no room for steroid abusing bridge players! |

Idealistically a good concept. One problems why the hell would players play of that caliber play, seriously? Poker players dont play for medals - They play for $$ bottom line! Edited : Due to being a horrible spellur (oh chit now I ahve to edit again!) |

Heh, nice marketing idea. Most of the stuff in the olympics is retarded anyway, so even tho poker isn't a sport theres no good argument on why it shouldn't be in the olympics. Would it be summer or winter tho?
