Can someone tell me
the chance (based on your .5/1 data) how often we can expect a 120 BB downswing?

Re: Can someone tell me
never.
Sorry, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones not to have a >100bb downswing. I'm sure mines coming though. And I may quit poker when it does. |

Re: Can someone tell me
i have a 120 bb downswing every time i have a 50 bb downswing, because i just tilt the rest away. so based on my stats, i have one about every ten thousand hands.
you should probably hit a true 120 downer once every 40-50k hands i'd guess? |

Re: Can someone tell me
i don't think i ever had one when i played the game serious, and the 100BB would mean something big to me
i did just lose 140BB in 450 hands before vegas, but now it doesn't mean much to me I only played 8k or so before moving up |

Re: Can someone tell me
What is your standard deviation, and over how many hands is the downswing?

Re: Can someone tell me
They happen. I played just under 100K .5/1 hands and had several. Three 100+ BB downswings in just over 2 weeks once during a 20k flat spell if I remember correctly.
They'll happen as often as they happen. Doesn't make much sense to worry about it. |

Re: Can someone tell me
I am not downswinging. Some of my buddies have contributed 120$ to my poker account and the winnings I bring in from it go to alcohol. I was trying to evaluate the risk involved in going into .5/1 with that roll and losing it all. I dont have my .5/1 data, or enough data from any limit to give a reliable standard deviation, that's why I asked for someone elses.
